Roosevelt was the only man elected to the American Presidency four times. Also known as FDR, Roosevelt was elected President in 1932, 1936, 1940 and 1944. During  his 12 years as President, Roosevelt led the nation through the Great Depression and World War II. Due to length of service and political necessity , FDR had three different vice presidents. John Nance Gardner 1933 to 1941 , Henry Wallace 1941 to 1945 and finally Harry Truman. Entering into the office of the vice presidency on January 20 , 1945 , Truman would serve just a few month before becoming President himself upon the death of Roosevelt in April of 1945.
