As Debate Looms Trump Leads In Latest Poll
August 2, 2015 - With the first Republican presidential primary debate set for Thursday , Donald Trump continues to lead his fellow GOP White House hopefuls.
Trump has the support of 19% of those polled followed by Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker with 15% and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush with 14%. In fourth place is Dr. Ben Carson with 10%. Trump ,Walker , Bush and Carson are the only candidates of the 17 Republican presidential aspirants that are polling in double digits.
In fifth place is Senator Ted Cruz of Texas with 9% followed by former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky each with 6%.
Sitting at 8th by himself with 5% is Senator Marco Rubio of Florida. All tied at 3% each are New Jersey Governor Chris Christie , Ohio Governor John Kasich and former Texas Governor Rick Perry. When the top 10 debate participants are announced Tuesday August 4, its likely that either Christie, Kasich or Perry will be the odd man out and excluded from the debate.
Those candidates at the bottom of the poll and unlikely to make the debate top 10 are Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum each with with 1%.
Those candidates currently earning less than one percent in this latest poll are former CEO Carly Fiorina, former New York Governor George Pataki, Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, and former Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore.
