Hillary Continues To Lead In Latest Poll
August 3, 2016 - The latest national poll on the state of the race for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination shows former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton continuing to hold a wide lead. Clinton had the support of 51% of those polled. In second place was Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont with 22%.
Over the last week there has been much speculation in the press that Vice President Joe Biden is seriously considering to enter the 2016 race for president. If he were to enter the race this would be the third White House run for Biden who also ran in 1988 and 2008. Even though he is not yet in the race Biden received the support of 13% of those polled. Biden is supposed to make a decision in September on whether or not he would join the race.
All tied at 1% each are three candidates who are currently actually running for president, former Senator Jim Webb of Virginia, former Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chaffe and former Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley.
