Walker Enters Presidential Race
July 13 , 2015 - Its time for the plant to start making Scott Walker campaign buttons , as the Wisconsin Governor has officially entered the 2016 race for the White House.
Walker , 47, was won election as Governor of Wisconsin in 2010 and 2014. In 2012 , Walker successfully won a recall, becoming the only sitting Governor in United States history to win a recall election.
In 2011 , Walker came to national attention when he successfully won a fight to curtail the collective bargaining rights for most of the public employes in the state. That fight with the unions led to the recall effort which as mentioned Walker was able to beat back.
Currently Walker finds himself in the top tier of the Republican candidates running for the 2016 Republican nomination. An average of nation polls finds Walker in second place with 10.5% with former Florida Governor Jeb Bush in first place with 16.3%.
In the state of Iowa, which would hold the first voting on the road to the nomination, Walker has strong lead of 17.8% , followed by Bush and Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky tied for 9.8% each.
Following Walker's announcement , he will begin a campaign swing that will take him to Nevada , South Carolina and New Hampshire. He will end the trip with a three-day trek across Iowa.
