The previous longest living president had been Gerald Ford who lived 93 years and 165 days. Bush has had a long career in public service as a Congressman from Texas , CIA Director , Vice President under Ronald Reagan and in 1988 being elected the 41st President of the United States.
Not far being Bush and Ford is former President Jimmy Carter who currently is 93 years old and 155 days.
