March 23, 2015 - Senator Ted Cruz of Texas  announced today in a tweet shortly after midnight that he running for president. Cruz, a Republican, is expected to have to compete for the GOP nomination against a long list of competitors including former Governor of Florida Jeb Bush, Wisconsin Governor  Scott Walker , Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky and Senator Marco Rubio of Florida to name a few. In could be an uphill climb for the first term Senator who was elected in 2012. While a Tea Party favorite and know as a spell binding public speaker, Cruz,44, at the moment is polling at just 4% in public opinion polls.
