New Jersey Governor Chris Christie Wins Re-Election
November 5, 2013 – New Jersey Governor Chris Christie cruised to re-election tonight with 60% of the vote to his opponents Barbara Buono’s 38 percent. Governor Christie gave his victory speech to a standing room only crowd of supporters at the historic Asbury Park Convention Hall. With an apparent prelude to an expected 2016 White House run Christie said “I know that if we can do this in Trenton, New Jersey, maybe the folks in Washington, D.C., should tune in to their TVs right now.”
While Chris Christie campaign buttons were scarce at the Asbury Park event, staffers were scene wearing the three inch pictured here. This Christie campaign button features the famous logo of Asbury Park that has adorned post cards of the famed resort for decades.
Some well known rock stars have launched their careers from the bars and clubs of Asbury Park. On this night a political rock star named Chris Christie may have just launched a campaign that will take him all the way to the White House in 2016.
