John McCain Biography
★ August 29, 1936 John McCain is born at Coco Solo
Naval Air Station in the Panama Canal Zone. ★
★ 1954 McCain enters U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis. ★
★ 1958 McCain graduates from U.S. Naval Academy. ★
★ July 3, 1965 McCain marries Carol Shepp. ★
★ July 29, 1967 McCain is almost killed aboard the aircraft
carrier USS Forrestal during a raging fire that takes the lives of
134 fellow crewmen. ★
★ October 26,1967 McCain is shot down while flying a
bombing mission over North Vietnam. McCain will spend nearly five and a
half years as a prisoner of war. ★
★ March 14, 1973 prisoner of war John McCain is
released. ★
★ March 17 , 1980 following a divorce from his first wife
McCain marries Cindy Lou Hensley. ★
★ April 1, 1981 McCain retires from the Navy. ★

president with a speech in New Hampshire site of his past presidential
primary triumph. ★ ★ January 8, 2008 John McCain wins the New Hampshire
Primary establishing him as the republican front runner. ★ ★ March 4, 2008 McCain wins a enough delegates to
secure the 2008 republican party presidential nomination. ★ ★ June 17, 2008 In the wake of $4.00 a gallon gasoline
